Wild Notion Duck Egg FAQs

Where is the farmstand located?

We’re located at 229 Valley Drive, in Falls PA. The farmstand is located right next to the road and your eggs will be in the cooler with your name on them. We’ll have your eggs out by 9am, and because we keep the cooler filled with ice packs they’ll stay cold all day till you’re ready to pick them up. You’ll receive an email when we set your eggs out confirming your order is ready for pickup.

I’m a current CSA member, can I have my order included in my next CSA pickup?

Yes. At checkout, current CSA members will have the option to choose either next day pickup at the farmstand or to have your order included in your next Saturday CSA pickup.

Do you wash your eggs?

Yes, when you buy eggs from us they’ll come washed. Which means you’ll need to keep them refrigerated! Only unwashed eggs should be left at room temperature.

What do you feed your ducks?

Our ducks free range every day and eat their fill of foraged grasses, flowers, and bugs. We also serve them a Kalmback feed specifically for ducks and geese (purchased locally from Montrose Feed & Supply), Icelandic kelp, peas, lettuce, and spinach. Their favorite treat is watermelon.

How fresh are your eggs?

Our eggs are 5 days old or less when sold (for context, most eggs at the grocery store are about 45 days old or older when purchased). You’ll find a “laid on” date on the side of each carton of Wild Notion eggs, which will indicate the date of the oldest egg in the carton.

Do you accept SNAP?

No, not yet. But we’re working on it and hope to be able to accept SNAP in the near future.

What breed of ducks do you raise?

We have a small flock of Cayuga and Buff ducks.

Why did we decide to raise ducks?

They’re immensely happy creatures! They free range well without digging up the market gardens and do a wonderful job of alleviating pest pressure, which makes them an invaluable addition to the team!
